Our last Saturday together as a family for a while, Daniel was staying behind to work and move while the kids and I went to Oregon to visit grandma. So we found a breakfast spot I've always wanted to try...it was DELICIOUS!! |

Our final goodbye to the Chambers family!!! :( |
 |
We gave gifts, we ate snack, they kids played, and we cried and cried, so hard to leave such great people. |
The night before we left for Oregon, Daniel had the kids stand in their room and he took a panoramic picture of all our rooms. GOODBYE HOUSE!! The past four years have been a blast!
Our realtor had us write a "seller's letter" and it was so fun to put together! Here it is:
A lot of life has been lived in just the short four years we have occupied this beautiful home. It’s adapted well to our growing and changing family quite perfectly. We’ve raised a toddler and brought two babies home from the hospital to this house, hosted countless get-togethers, parties, playdates, and holidays, and housed out-of-town guests for a fun Dallas vacation. The downstairs layout provided the perfect space for a kids’ playarea as well as a separate formal living area for adult gatherings with the kitchen right in the middle of it all. The upstairs bedrooms provided a quiet and secluded space for rest and work, and the closeness of the rooms made it easier to meet middle of the night needs.
The carpeted living space to the right of the house entertained its share of giggly girls and rambunctious boys. Many tickle fights, wrestling matches, cartwheels and somersaults have taken place in this space, as well as train tracks and block towers built, large floor puzzles put together, games played and forts made.
The table area in the kitchen made for a great creation station. Many school lessons, homework projects, science experiments, playdough sculpting, bracelet making, coloring, cutting, stamping, painting and other various arts and crafts have taken place in this space. The easy access to the pantry/art supply closet and the easy to clean tile made it an ideal place to let imaginations run wild.
The formal living area provided a quiet space to read, study, watch movies (or football if it’s fall!), and rest after a full day. It made the perfect space for Bible studies and Superbowl parties, family gatherings and evening with friends.
The large master bedroom served well as both a bedroom, an office area for my work-at-home husband, and a crafting/sewing space for me. The separate countertops and sinks in the master bathroom made a perfect his and hers space for getting ready in harmony. A warm bubble bath in the spacious bathtub was a perfect way to unwind on cold winter nights after kids were in bed. The large walk-in closet housed all kinds of items from clothing to hidden Christmas presents. The easy access to the other bedrooms gave my kids their own private spaces while keeping them close enough to feel safe and within reach.
The formal dining area and kitchen was an absolute favorite place to be and where most of our time was spent. Kids loved to gather stools and chairs by the island to watch dinner being made or help bake muffins and cookies. The double oven came in very handy during the holidays, when having friends over for brunch, or making hundreds of goodies for a bake sale or birthday party. That feature may be what I end up missing the most, it made many cooking and baking endeavors so much simpler!! But my absolute, most favorite part of our entire house was the little window above the large porcelain sink where I could prepare a meal or clean up a meal while watching my children play, laugh, run, and tumble in the backyard. They were close enough to be reached if needed yet so caught up in their own little world drawing pictures with chalk on the cement slab or digging in the pebbles to find rolly pollys that I could be productive without much distraction. The radio by the sink could also be turned on to add a bit of entertainment to the work at hand.
When the backyard didn’t quite get all the wiggles out, the neighborhood park was within walking distance for a nice change of scenery and the two elementary school playgrounds were perfect for a quick little bike ride. On nice weather days we could walk our daughter to McGowen Elementary for school. We love McGowen and the school community they’ve created there, Principal Little is absolutely delightful!! Other places we’ve enjoyed walking to is Manna Donuts on Eldorado for a yummy breakfast treat, Christ Fellowship for church events or to play on the playground, the Family Video to pick up a free kid’s DVD, or Zenith gymnastics for my daughter’s weekly class.
It’s going to be hard to leave this house behind, but I’m thankful for all the memories we’ve shared here. I hope you find many opportunities to make your own wonderful memories in this house once you make this home your own.
